Calla 500 is a highly concentrated and versatile alkaline waterbase cleaner that meets all requirements of specification Mil-C-25769G. It is primarily intended for removal of exhaust stains and general aircraft cleaning. When tests are conducted in accordance with Mil-C- 25769G, Calla 500 is safe on aluminum alloys, magnesium alloys and cadmium plated steel; does not cause crazing or cracking of acrylic base plastic under stress and there is no attack on the plastic. Calla 500 is formulated with biodegradable detergents, contains no harmful concentrations of phenols, chromates or chlorinated solvents and has proven to be a safe, efficient and economical aircraft cleaning material. Calla 500 is also recommended for use on all aviation related ground service equipment.
Application:
The following recommendations for the cleaning of aircraft, aircraft components and facilities have been compiled through many years of cleaning many types of aircraft under widely varied conditions. General Cleaning With Water Solution Mix one part Calla 500 with 30 parts water. Apply by spray or mop; allow a few minutes to penetrate; agitate with brush or mop and rinse with water. General Cleaning With Foam Mix one part Calla 500 with 30 parts water and apply through a foam generator. Agitate the foam on the surface with brush or mop and rinse with water. Heavy Duty Cleaning: (Water Mix) Mix one part Calla 500 with 5 parts water and use above procedure. Heavy Duty Cleaning: (Solvent Mix) Mix one part Calla 500 with one part water and seven parts petroleum solvent and agitate with air to form a thick creamy emulsion. Apply the emulsion with spray or mop; allow a few minutes for penetration; agitate with brush or mop and rinse with water. For extremely dirty areas a mixture of one part Calla 500 with 4 parts solvent may be used. The viscosity of the emulsion may be adjusted by adding more solvent to thicken or more Calla 500 to thin. Any emulsion left from previous day's use would be agitated before using.
